Not Again!

Since Ryan was released from the hospital, we've been administering home care to help cure his anal stenosis. Last week his doctor suddenly wanted to get real aggressive in treating Ryan. He stepped up the dilation progress and wanted us to bring him back in one week (which was today).

At our appointment today, the doctor indicated that he has suspicion that Ryan's condition is a bit more severe than just anal stenosis. He believes it to be rectal stenosis - which would require surgery similar to - but more extensive than - the Hirschsprung's procedure.

An MRI is being scheduled at Children's Hospital LA. If, after the MRI, there is a confirmed diagnosis of the condition, then I will share all of the detail that I was given today with all of you. It may be a couple of weeks before we can get it scheduled.

In the meantime, put Ryan in your prayers.

Tonight I look at him while he sleeps peacefully in his crib. I just love him so much. I know that regardless of what is determined, he will be okay. I look forward to the day that we aren't taking him to the doctor for anything accept his regular check-ups.

Good night, Ryan. Sweet dreams little baby. Someday this will all be over. Your Mommy & your Daddy love you!!!

Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. It will be harder on you Jeff and Melissa, than it will be on Ryan. Kids bounce back from surgery so fast and Ryan will have no idea this ever happened. Be strong and you will be ok. It is not easy, we have been through it too, but it will be a distant memory soon!! Love, Jamey and Jill

Of course you ALL are in our prayers. As your friend stated, he'll have no idea it ever happened. It's always tougher on the parents than the child. Please let us know how things go.
Love,
Andrew and Carrie
